How Therapy Works

I offer a safe, non-judgmental service in a confidential space where you can focus on discussing experiences, thoughts and emotions that are important or difficult for you.

The aim is for you to gain awareness or understand the possibilities of making significant changes in yourself and your life. Consequently, analyse the options available in your life.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process and we will work together on the issues you bring up, to allow you to find the best path or action. I won't say what you're going to do but I will sometimes question or challenge some of your thoughts and beliefs; and other times you will be able to practice some action, outside our session.

Treatments

I use a versatile therapeutic approach to treat a wide range of mental health conditions. Here are some common mental health conditions and issues for which therapy is often utilised:

Anger Management: Therapy helps individuals systematically identify anger triggers, recognize destructive thought patterns, and develop comprehensive strategies for expressing and managing emotional responses more effectively.

Anxiety Disorders: Therapy effectively addresses various anxiety disorders by comprehensively challenging irrational beliefs, teaching targeted relaxation techniques, and implementing strategic exposure strategies to reduce anxiety symptoms.

Depression: Therapy assists individuals with depression by systematically challenging negative thought patterns, identifying specific cognitive distortions, and developing practical, evidence-based coping strategies to improve overall psychological well-being.
